In the heart of historic Menard County, IL, the RiverBank Lodge is open for business!
RiverBank Lodge is located on the southern edge of Petersburg, Illinois, on the banks of the Sangamon River. We are very close to Abraham Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site, as well as the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish & Wildlife Preserve.
 

Our 24 rooms are filled with the amenities of a modern upscale hotel. Many of our suites include special surprises like flat panel TVs w/cable, Jacuzzis, fireplaces, and multi-head walk-in showers. We also have onsite conference facilities, free wireless internet, and an excellent lounge to relax with a drink and a tasty fresh-baked pizza.

In the mornings, this is where our guests can have a continental breakfast. But from from 4pm to Midnight on Weekdays and 1pm to 1am on Weekends, our Lounge truly comes to life.

Our lounge offers a wide selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. Margarita Mondays are particularly popular. We also make a mean Pizza that is popular with guests and locals alike.

Location

From Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport (SPI)
Take Route 97 North to Rt123 West towards Petersburg. Once in Petersburg, stay on Rt123 as it turns South. RiverBank Lodge is on the left just past the Subway and Dairy Queen.

From Chicago
Take I-55 South, then take the Williamsville / Petersburg exit for Route 123 past the entrance to Athens. Turn left to remain on Route 123 and travel into Petersburg. Once in Petersburg turn left onto 6th Street, which is also Route 97 & Route 123. RiverBank Lodge is on the left just past the Subway and across from Dairy Queen.

From St Louis

Meetings and Events
RiverBank Lodge has a large conference room for meetings in Illinois that can accommodate up to 80 with a variety of seating options and configurations available.

Adjoining this space is a large preparation area with a countertop pass-through that can be opened or closed depending on the type of event.

Area Attractions and Activities

RiverBank Lodge is an excellent location for accessing a wide range of nature-based activities in the area.

Widely recognized as one of the greatest and most influential U.S. Presidents, Abraham Lincoln looms large in shaping many of the most important events in American History.

And, he happened to grow up just down the street!

Residents and visitors to the Menard County can enjoy a deep and rich hunting culture. Deer, Turkey, Dove, Pheasant, Quail and small game are the most common, but even Coyote and Chukar hunts occur in the area as well.

Follow Route 29 from RiverBank Lodge all the way to Menard County’s very own Hill Prairie Winery. Recently opened in 2004, Hill Prairie Winery boasts 14 acres of vineyard, and an intimate setting to site and enjoy many of the local grape varieties in their finest of forms.

The Sangamon River, which flows right on by our Lodge (thus the name RiverBank Lodge), is an excellent way to see the natural landscape throughout Sangamon & Menard counties. There is also an annual “Dead Carp Drop” kayaking event held in Petersburg each year.
